Right, the faff and fun of the OZ trip is well behind me now, as well as getting back into a kind of routine at the hutch. It's time to look into 2016 and sketch out a 'to do' list. Crikey, six weeks into the year? Yup, YAMster can look all behind and befuddled, but usually ends up somewhere near the front.
The BIGGEST event of the year, and the main focus if the truth be told, is the Grand Ol' Indiana Nemoral Gathering at the Blogville Awesome Retreat.... oh yeah, I'sa GOING to the BAR!!!

For all the traveling in the past, the nearest I ever got to the Americas was St Lucia, in the Caribbean. Stunningly beautiful and with fond memories. Somehow, going to the US and Canada never figured large on my radar. Then I met all these wonderfur pets and their peeps through blogging, so how could I pass up on this opportunity?! As a whole year's budget is going into the traveling itself, there are limitations on how much can be managed; of course I'd love to get over to the West Coast and round via Texas to the SE states - but it ain't gonna happen I fear. Instead, I am going to make the most of the NE and into Ontario as I can.
The ticket from here to Chicago is booked, but now need to get beavering on finessing the smaller details. Abby's mum LBJ has made a generous offer for a night's stay when I arrive and then I need to get from Chicago to In'polis and then down to Brown's Park area... Expect some emails, those of you in the know!!!
After the BAR, I hope to travel East, perhaps via Cincinnati then up to Akron area; I have a date to be with Jenn in Perth, Ontario, just haven't set it yet... but something that came to my notice after beginning this organising was that Guruji Swami Tejomayananda is going to be giving a discourse in Ottawa from 21-26 June... can't be that close and miss this chance; it would truly make the trip a full one! I guess I need to be with her by 19th at lastest...
Later in the year, there is going to be a blogpal from the other side of Canada coming to visit me and get a tour of this Bonny Land - and this March I shall have a visitor also.
In between all that, one has to remember to keep writing; and it helps to have prompts such as this...>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Need to get my thinking cap on!!!

Happy planning! I've been curious to know what you were organising for your big BAR trip. Feeling ever so slightly envious, but then the USA is one place where I have travelled a lot.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.

OMD! You are going to BAR! I'm in the Chicago area as well. Hoping to make it to the gathering as well. This is so exciting!
ReplyDeleteSince that is the week of my Dad's 96th birthday, I may not be here. My husband said you are still welcome to stay in our guest quarters and although he can't stay, he could give you a ride to Indy and drop you off, if no one from Chicago can give you a lift and if his work doesn't have him out of the country. (his company has manufacturing all over the world, so he does travel, but it's usually only a week about every six weeks) The Daily Pip - if you are able to offer a lift, we are near the 294 and Ogden exit 10 minutes from Whole Foods. My husband can pick Aunty YAM up at the airport and get her settled and fed for a good night's sleep before the trip down.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful that you are going to BAR. Wish we were going, would love to meet everyone

It's great that you will meet all our friends in the furs... and I'm glad even one of the old world will be there :o) I wish you the bestest time ever and I can't wait to hear all about this adventure :o)
ReplyDeleteSo, you are going to the Bar and not being called to the Bar. I think I know which would be most enjoyable. xx
